Welcome to the Marsden Youth and Community Project website

The Marsden Youth and Community Project (or MYAC for short) was set up to try and improve the facilities for communities, families and young people in Marsden. You can read more about how the project is progressing on our about page.

CUCKOOS DAY STALL

We will be doing a stall on Cuckoos Day 24th April 2010

If anyone is interested in helping with the stall or would like their groups info displayed.

SELF DEFENCE COURSES

Marsden Youth and Community Project and Freedom Personal Safety has joined together to offer a number of self defence classes.

We have applied for a grant from Cuckoos nest in Marsden and we are planning to run the courses in June.

There will be a couple of taster sessions first, each which will be 2 hours long.

The course will then run over three 3 hour sessions over 3 weeks the dates and times are still to be confirmed.

Places will be limited.

Ethical Fasion Show Ethical Fashion Show

In partnership with MASTT, MYAC organised an ethical fashion show using clothes bought from Charity shops, demonstrating how charity shops are fashionable, ethical and good for your wallet/purse!

Marsden is an attractive stone-built village, bordered by the Peak District National Park to the South and the Pennines to the West. Surrounded by Moorland on three sides the village has a strong textile history and a thriving business community.
